Klanggestalten in Berlin, November 2019

We cordially invite you to this year's Klanggestalten exhibition from 1.-3. November to Berlin,
where 40 of Europe's finest violin and bow makers will be presenting their instruments and bows.

Alongside the violins, violas, cellos + bows, this year ́s exhibition will feature double basses and bass bows for the first time.

You will now have the opportunity to appreciate newly made basses by Patrick Charton, Peter Erben, Benjamin Grießhaber, Oskar Kappelmeyer, Stefan Krattenmacher and Konrad Stoll. Bass bows with German grip have been made, some even exclusively for this event, by Victor Bernard, Emmanuel Carlier, Christophe Collinet, Boris Fritsch, Daoudi Hassoun, Gerald Knoll, Stéphane Muller, Rüdiger Pfau, Jordan Scapinello and Klaus Uebel.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Prof. Esko Laine who will be premiering the Klanggestalten bass sound-trials. New basses and bass bows will also be heard in the two concerts of the Contakt -Project. We very much look forward to it!

As usual you can play all the violins, violas, cellos, basses and bows on display, extensively test them in separate rooms and borrow/purchase them in consultation with the makers.

There will also be two concerts as part of the Contact-Project with the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin as well as sound-trials of all violins, violas, cellos and basses.
We encourage conversations between the instrument makers and the musicians.

This is a rare opportunity to try these outstanding new instruments and bows as well as to meet the people who make them.

We look forward to your presence!
