Biography
I am a trained advertising photographer and craftsman since 1994. I photographed my first old violins during my three-year apprenticeship. Since then, I have specialized exclusively in documenting contemporary and historical string instruments and bows. I work for many contemporary violin and bow makers, musicians, collections as well as for numerous publications, especially various reference books. Always on the road around the world in search of new challenges. I have been based in southern Germany since 2023.
I will be represented with an exhibitor’s table at the next exhibition. Here I will be showing the latest publications, such as volumes I+2 of the book series on Mantua violin making, as well as the “workbench-friendly” folder volume I – with practical removable pages – on the currently most valuable Stradivari violin, as well as other specialist books and projects such as the Guarneri del Gesù Iconography publication.
I will be taking photos on site in a separate room for all exhibitors as well as for external violin and bow makers – from bows to double basses.
