Biography
Hello! My name is Paweł and I started my adventure with violin making at the age of 15. I obtained information about the construction of violins mainly on the Internet. Thanks to my tenacity and patience, by trial and error, I managed to create my first hand-made instrument. I decided to visit the nearest luthier to use his experience and tips. In each subsequent instrument, I tried to correct my mistakes and strive for perfection, although I knew that at that stage I still had a lot to learn.
At the age of 21, I decided to start studying at the Academy of Music in Poznań in order to improve my violin making skills under the supervision of professionals. During these 5 years of studies, I gained valuable knowledge from outstanding Polish and foreign luthiers and took part in masterclasses with, among others: Iris Carr, Samuel Zygmuntowicz, Stephan von Baehr, Peter Beare.
During my studies at the academy, I managed to do an internship at Jan Bartoś’s workshop in Paris. After completing my studies and obtaining a diploma in Artistic Violin Making, I had the pleasure of working as an assistant in Piotr Pielaszek’s workshop for the next 2 years, which contributed greatly to the development of my career. In 2021, I became a member of ZPAL and since 2023 I have run my own atelier, specializing in making violins, violas and cellos.
