Violin Maker

I was born in 1977 in Poznan, Poland. In 1992 I started studying violin-making in Music High School in Poznań under the leadership of my father Antoni Krupa. In 2002 I graduated the violin-making faculty on Music Academy in Poznan. Since 2001 to 2002 I had training bow-making at Gregor Walbrodt’s workshop in Berlin. In 2002 and 2006 I hold a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture. At present I’m also a teacher of violin making at Music Academy in Poznan. Since 1998 I am a member of Polish Union of Artist Violin Makers (ZPAL) and also a member of the Violin Society of America (V.S.A.).
I make new instruments: violins, violas and cellos, also bows for stringed instruments, restoration and valuation.
I took part in many international violin making competitions and I achieved the following prizes:
    •    2004 - Polish Violin Making Competition in Poznań – 1st prize in cello category, 2nd prize in viola category, 1st and 2nd prize in bows category,
    •    2005 - International Violin and Bow Making Competition in Mittenwald - two bronze medals for violin bow and viola bow,
    •    2006 - 11. International Violin Making Competition in Cremona – 3rd prize and bronze medal in violin category, prize for the best tone quality of violin and special prize “S.F. Sacconi” for young maker,
    •    2006 - V.S.A. Violin and Bow Making Competition in Baltimore - three certificates of merit for violin bow, viola bow and cello bow,
    •    2010 - International Violin and Bow Making Competition in Mittenwald – silver medal for violin bow and bronze medal for cello.
    •    2013 – 2. China International Violin and Bow Making Competition in Beijing - Gold medal for bass bow
    •    2018 - V.S.A. Violin and Bow Making Competition in Cleveland - certificate of merit for cello bow,
    •    2021 - 16. International Violin Making Competition in Cremona – 3rd prize and bronze medal in cello category,
    •    2022 - V.S.A. Violin and Bow Making Competition in Anaheim - certificate of merit for cello bow.
