Matthieu Millet

I make double basses based on my own models, and in 2011 I won second prize in the "Etienne Vatelot" international lutherie competition held by the city of Paris.
 
I set up my workshop in 2003, and now specialize in making, restoring, repairing and tuning double basses. After an apprenticeship in Mirecourt and with various luthiers in France, I now have 20 years' experience. For several years now, I've been making the double bass my specialty and my instrument. As a practicing double bassist, I have a particular and attentive approach to this instrument.
